Our Humble Beginnings as The Rock Church in Berkeley
In 1996, a small group of pioneering members, led by Pastor John Lee, started The Rock Church, as a non-denominational Christian fellowship on the University of California, Berkeley. We later also established a church house in Oakland, fondly called the Rock House.
In early 2000s, we held services at the Veteran’s Hall in El Cerrito, near Berkeley, and moved the Rock House to Hayward. The congregation continued to grow with earnest believers from the Bay Area. The church comprised families, children, students, and working adults.

Growing our Ministry into the larger Bay Area
In mid 2000s, we moved to Union City, and later Hayward, and began growing our ministry across the larger Bay Area.
In early 2010s, we moved to Palo Alto, and later San Carlos, reaching out to new members on Stanford University.

Renewal as the Lord’s Light of Love Church
In 2018, Pastor Ben Hur took over as Head Pastor of the church, and moved our church to Santa Clara, and then Milpitas (where we currently reside), also reaching out to young families and working adults in the Bay Area. We also renamed our church to the Lord’s Light of Love Church, in line with our new church’s vision.
